Faustina van thienen

Hi! I’m Faustina, a multidisciplinary artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have lived in the U.S.A and Australia, and I’m currently based in Milano, Italy.

You will often find me chasing the beauty of the moment with my old and faithful handy-cam. I film, I sketch and I write constantly. I observe the world around me and I try to capture it, translate it, transform it.

I’ve completed my Bachelor studies in Film Directing at Universidad del Cine (FUC) and I have worked mainly as a 1st assistant director and production designer in short films and music videos, which have led me to fantastic places like, most recently, the Hainan International Film Festival in China. I’ve also worked freelance as a multimedial designer for diverse brands and projects.

Alongside film, I’ve always practiced visual arts, exploring the materials and themes that move me. Self-portraiture has been central to my practice as a way to observe, understand and dig inward, while experimenting with the expressive possibilities of film, photography and painting.

I’m drawn to projects that encourage me to explore new mediums and bring together my technical skills through teamwork and creative collaboration. That’s why I find working in film and theater so enriching. I’m always looking for opportunities that challenge my creativity and allow me to bring ideas to life through collaboration, craftsmanship, and vision.
